Hi! I'm hmsteader71 on HT also so I just used it on here too. I mainly posted in Countryside but occasionally did in the sewing section.
I am 43 years old, married with 3 children-Ashley 24 (married to Jeremy 24), Jacob (20) and Caleb (18). I am grandmother to Lainey (3) & Oliver (2).
I work part-time as a homemaker with a home health agency. I go into client's homes and clean, cook, take them on errands and to doctor's visits. I work 15 hours a week and that is enough for now as I also take my dad and my husband's dad to doctor's visits when needed.
I love to garden even though the past few years I haven't been too successful. I am changing how I garden this year to more container gardening. We live in town and our garden area is very low-lying and is flooded a lot. I also love to cook, bake, sew, read, play music and search for ways to save us money and to pay our debt off quicker. I've been a member of HT for 9 years and am very sad to see the way it is going.
I am once again hoping to set up this Summer at a little Farmer's market here in town. For years I was the only one doing this and I would sell homemade breads and desserts. I have talked with one of our city council members and she is getting the ball rolling for starting a bigger one.
I also created a group on Facebook for anyone interested. It is called "Frugal Recipe Box" and we share frugal recipes and tips, gardening ideas, anything to help save money in these hard times. We only had a few members and then overnight it seemed to explode. We now have almost 1000 members.
Also, I don't know if all of you are aware but a while ago someone off of HT created a forum for Christian Homesteaders. I would really like to see a lot of people go and frequent that forum too. There are good people there and they don't have that many posting. Just look up Christian Homesteading.
