Great!! Like I really needed to gain another 5 lbs. I would prefer some Tylenol right about now though. TRellis Tylenol? I'm from the deep South. I've been pounding Goodies for the last two days!

As far as deleting your account on HT, I don't think you can, only administration can. Just log out & don't go back if that is what you want. I plan to check in to see what happens there. I am so happy to see so many people coming here.

Hi, I am rather new to HT but have participated in the now defunct SurvivalTopics.com site, and another proboards site with the remnants of ST on there. We are in central WI near several other active HT members and I plan to meet one of them soon - Solsikke Farms - as he is selling chickens (freezer ready) to us this summer. We are still in transition with my DH working full time in Milwaukee; I am at the homestead full time since May 30 last year. Huge organic gardening fan, 7000 sq ft home garden and orchard just starting) and big on learning from all. Once DH is here full time we will have chickens and maybe goats. Thanks to Melissa. This is exactly what happened when ST went dark with no notice.

I am so happy to see so many people coming here. I was searching HT and all of sudden a window popped up saying I was not registered..I went to log in and it said I needed to register? I asked the CEO for my posts to be deleted..I don't think I asked to be completely wiped off the board.

Hi all! Calliemoonbeam everywhere I go, lol. I joined here a long time ago, when it was used as an emergency board for when the other placed was down. Took me a while to figure out my password, but I finally got it. I'm in Northeast Oklahoma, been homesteading about eight years now, but many years of food storage and prepping. I live on five acres and am expanding my garden every year and starting an orchard this year, as well as trying to create a food forest. Just got chickens this past fall and planning on rabbits this spring and hopefully goats soon after. I love to cook and collect cookbooks, as well as many forms of crafting. I'm so glad Melissa had this site for us to come to! Melissa, I know the bigger a forum gets the more it costs to run, so if you need funds please don't hesitate to speak up! I know I'd be happy to contribute, and I'm sure many others would as well.

Nancy here. I did not not HT was having troubles but I don't get on there everyday. DH and I live on 5 acres. We have chickens, both layers and broilers. A large garden so I can a lot. DH is working as a maintenance director at a nursing home after spending most of his career as a remodeler and home builder. He just turned 65 so this is a much easier job for his bod We have 2 children, both grown and married and have 4 grandchildren. 3 of those live close and visit often and love coming out to "the farm". I like to read and embroider and put together jigsaw puzzles in the cold months. We live in Nebraska.

I was also told that I live close to Light Rain, madsaw is south of me, and katcalico is close. But closest is Mike at Solsikke Farms. I am orignally from Milwaukee area but we lived almost 18 years in and out of Chicago due to jobs. Last transfer was July 2009 BACK to Chicago after we had built our retirement home..... Finally free of it (all my kids were born there and we loved all our neighbors but the VIOLENCE was escalating to a scary degree) last May. Where are you located if you don't mind saying?

He has more garden knowledge than anyone I know.

Well, leave it to Melissa to create a solution. I’d insert a smiley of applause if I could.
Can I come over?
My name is Maura. I am an addict. I needed homesteading advice whether I use it or not. I am 61, as is DH. I do many things, whatever pleases me, such as writing and knitting. I also do what does not please me, such as clean the bathtub.

Hi; I don't show up much on homesteadingtoday, particularly since I got banned a few months ago, but my name is Bruce King, and I'm a farmer and blogger who lives in western washington, about an hour north of seattle. I've written a blog for years now, you'll find it at blog.bigpig.net and it's really aimed at farmers, although I've had a million or so people read it over the years, so there's something that draws non-farmers, too. I'm pretty much pig-centric in the early blog, but I'm starting a dairy, so I'm transitioning to milking and dairy related issues recently. I also like to look at farm business ideas and farming practices, and I've written up many farms that didn't make it as a way to record the lessons learned and hopefully educate future farmers about the problems in the past. One particular hot-button topic of mine is when people claim farming practices or results that I just don't believe are possible, and the primary reason I got kicked off homesteadingtoday was that I called out the moderator of the pig forum for his promotion of raising pigs on pasture alone -- which even he admits he doesn't do. I offered him $10,000 to raise 4 pigs per his published standards, and he refused. When I brought this up after he made the claim again on the forum, angie claimed that I was "rude" and "you can't call out someone like that" and ordered me never to reference the claim again. I wrote up the interaction between highlands (moderator) angie and I in three parts, which you'll find here. one, two, threeSomeone (either angie or highlander) filed DCMA takedown notices on my blog entries and contents, which is how I found out about how to remove content from a website you disagree with, which I've posted in a seperate thread here, if you'd like to remove some (or all) of y our content from HST. Anyway, I'll go back to my farming thing, but if you'd like to reach me directly, I'm at bruceki@bigpig.net

Hi all! I am MoCrafter. I am married and an empty nest mama. Our kids are now our dog and cats. We live on 5 acres in northwest Missouri. I am a hand quilter. I have been crocheting for over 30 years and am just learning to knit. I also do some embroidery. I love working with fabric and yarn. We raise a large garden each spring that the neighbor does not kill with spray drift. We got rid of all of our chickens and ducks last fall, but I miss them so that I hope to get a few more chicks next month. Look forward to being on a peaceful board. I have always respected Melissa!
