Hello everyone! I'm from HT and I usually post in the Cattle Forum and S&EP. I haven't posted much in the last year as I could see changes that I didn't like...but still read the boards.
I live on a farm and raise Scottish Highland Cattle. We have chickens, dogs, gardens and such...hopefully to add pigs this year.

Hi! We live somewhat rural VA, and have 3 big dogs, cats, and assorted other animals. Love to garden, read, care for the animals, and learn frugal tips! Glad to have another spot to congregate and see many familiar names.

I wondered what the TOS said because honestly I signed up here many years ago. However this board is simply a back-up for information at this point. I am waiting to see how things are addressed at HT to decide my next move. The lack of integrity really bothers me.

My name is Terri, and yesterday I signed into the Cattle forum (www.cattleforum.com) just to have a better idea of what is going on.
As a new member I was not allowed access to the posts I most wanted to see, but THEIR TOS was really fascinating! The exact wording escapes me, but at the Cattle forum apparently you are not allowed to post under someone else's name and plagiarism is not allowed. OOPS!
Enough of THAT subject! My name is Terri and I have an acre of land in Eastern Kansas that I have turned into a homestead. I have 4 chickens, a garden, a home made greenhouse, two kids (one at home and one moved out), a dog and 2 cats!

Good morning from chilly and overcast North Florida? I'm also reading only and waiting to see what transpires over there. Having been more off the site than on since last summer, It was a shock to see so many changes. Time will tell. In the meantime I am grieving for what and who has been lost due to foolishness and greed. In His Love Mich

Hello All! Coming here from HT where I go by the same name. I was raised a farm girl but have been away from my homestead (20 acres) for most of 2 years. Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things and get back to doing what I love. It's very nice to see so many familiar names here. I am not giving up on HT yet but it is so nice to know we have somewhere to meet if things go further down hill.

Well, I'm another one from HT checking out options.
We live off-grid on 60 acres in eastern Washington State about 10 miles from the town of Chelan. Our place is for sale and it's time to move to a retirement community - probably in Georgetown Texas. Here or in town, I enjoy sharing some of the knowledge I've aquired over the years and the sense of community that can come from some forums.
Will you also be having some of the other topics I like?
Construction, shop talk, automotive, firearms, alternative energy / off grid, ducks & chickens, alternative medicine, logging, communications / ham radio, And other stuff.
I'm not particularly religious and wonder if that is the focus here Melissa. Room for me too? (FYI, I happen to have a daughter Melissa and a granddaughter Melissa - good name!)

Hello from Texas. I am another one from HT. I found HT about 3 or four years ago when we were planning to live on family land. Because of my husband's illness we never got to move. I never posted in HT but I did hit the like button a lot. I have enjoyed the frugal tips and other aspects of self sufficiency that I have learned about from reading HT. I hope to learn even more from this forum.

Hi, all! MGM here, from HT. I usually hang out in the CF and S&EP forums the most there. I am just heartsick over the whole mess going on right now, and am looking for a calm, safe harbor from the storm. I'm a single mom, 4 grown kids, one of whom lives with me, and 6 grandkids. I'm an RN, retired early and am enjoying life at home. I love to shop garage sales and thrift stores and am a frugal soul. I love to have fun with my family and friends, play a mean game of Scrabble with my bff, and spend too much time on line.

MikeinOhio here - Another refugee from HT. Like others I'm in wait and see mode. As someone who has participated since the Lusenet days I'm really disappointed. It's a crying shame.

Hello friends! So glad to see you all here. I live in KY on a small farm. It has always been my dream to live on a farm and raise chickens, goats, pigs and more. I love to garden and cook. I am hoping to start bee keeping soon. I am looking forward to seeing what this site is all about.
