Paul Wheaton discussed this very topic on a thread in Homesteading Today, nearly 5 years ago . . . www.homesteadingtoday.com/general-homesteading-forums/homesteading-questions/307366-plagiarism.htmlOne wonders, whether a class action lawsuit might get someone's attention? Although (it appears at this time), that willow_girl and possibly another member, were the only one's who were actual plagarized 'victims'. And then there is problem of what actual damages were incurred by the parties involved; although in many cases, damages don't have to be proven - just having done the act intentionally is all that is necessary. ("ALICE" -aka- 'Steve', CMG administrator, knew those works copied & pasted elsewhere, weren't his own intellectual property) As a (former) tight-knit community however, we've ALL suffered from the lack of integrity of a faceless profit-motivated corporation, who seemed to be more concerned with damage control and company image, then doing what was right initially. What can definitely be defined as damaged, was "trust". And how does one put a value on that commodity? It is EVERYTHING . . . or we have nothing.

Mike Sometimes ..... it helps to sound off and bounce ideas, thoughts and dreams of what might have been..... even share a few tears over a subject that many of us felt strongly about. Who knows, there might be something that can be salvaged from all of this or even done to prevent this from ever happening again in the future ......because "somebody" took the time to talk about it? It could even prove cathartic and healing.

Why so gloomy? "...something that can be salvaged...blah,blah,blah..." We'll all be fine. Like I wrote over at HT, the community transcends a specific website.

Are you asking if I'm "gloomy", or describing your own emotional state? You first mention why I dragged angst over here, but then you persist in contributing to this thread. Seems contradictory. I think what you really want to do, is get something off your chest. Go ahead.....I didn't start the mess over there. But I'd like to talk about it. Just want to give folks a chance (if they really want to) to let it all out without further reprecussions that one grew to dread..... OVER THERE. I've found in the past, that if something isn't right, even if I couldn't do anything about it per se, that it actually felt better after discussing it with others. Keeping things bottled up leads to ulcers.

There is a 14 lb cat laying on my chest with his butt in my face. He's a long haired Himalayan we've nicknamed fluffernutter. He is kneading with his claws through my t-shirt so I assume my stomach will soon look like a pin cushion. On the other hand he has some awesome purrs. You're right. I do feel better after getting that off my chest. Now he's laying by my feet. Mike
